Who should apply for a Happenings Internship?
- Students who are motivated and willing to work.
- Students interested in journalism/writing, research, graphic design, photography,
marketing/public relations, office administration or other related fields.
What should you know about a Happenings Internship?
- Most internships will be 15 hours per week minimum for approximately
15 weeks (about 200 hours).
- All internships will focus on a variety of magazine work.
- Happenings internships are unpaid; however Happenings may choose
to offer a small stipend or scholarship based on the student’s
performance and Happenings scholarship availability. The stipend
or scholarship will not be considered until an internship’s
200 hours are fulfilled.
Fall: Late August - Mid December
Spring: Mid January - Early May
Summer: Early May - Mid August
Steps to Obtaining a Happenings Internship:
Step 1: Submission
All materials must be received by deadlines below, unless special circumstances
are noted.

- Cover letter
- Resume
- 3-5 References with accurate contact information
Submission Deadlines:
Fall Semester: August 3
Spring Semester: December 3

Step 2: Interview
Meet for a brief interview after we contact you.
Bring samples of your work.
Step 3: Hiring
All hired interns must attend an introductory work day to meet the staff and
get acquainted to office procedures.
